RCA Australia must have been getting anxious for new Monkee product by mid 1967, as they went ahead and plucked the popular Davy Jones ballad "I Wanna Be Free" from the Monkees' self-titled first album and issued it as a single, backed with the Michael Nesmith song "You Just May Be The One" from the newly-released third album "Headquarters".
The release date listed above could be a little later, as the album "Headquarters" wasn't released until June 1967, and it's doubtful that the Australian branch of RCA would've had the album master tapes very far ahead of release time.
The sleeve artwork was re-used from the last time, with a change of logo and some cartoon heads pasted in for good measure. Re-using artwork for consecutive 45 sleeves was something that RCA was not averse to when it came to Monkees releases.
In any event, the single was a top 5 hit, one of many for the Monkees on the Australian charts.
