The
second volume followed hard on the heels of the first, using the same
cover artwork a second time. This time, the EP, which also charted under
the title of "Let's Dance On", featured three further selections
from the Monkees' first LP, with the hit single "I'm A Believer"
thrown in for good measure.
And
although it did make an entry into the Australian charts, it only scraped
into the top 40, marring what would otherwise be a perfect two year run
of top ten Monkees 45s, commencing with the first single "Last Train
To Clarksville" and ending in late 1968 when "Porpoise Song"
only went as high as 34.
The
New Zealand branch of RCA gamely continued with a Volume Three, which
featured the barrel-balancing photo yet again, and a yellow top bar with
black text. The songs featured were "I Wanna Be Free", "Last
Train To Clarksville", "(I'm Not Your) Steppin' Stone"
and "She".
