Again,
like Volume 1, the back sleeve of this record is fairly much identical
to the front sleeve. White top and bottom flaps are about the only noticable
feature, with the usual copyright information, as well as a number, "A
1069".
These
"A" numbers began appearing on the bottom right hand corner
of the back sleeves of these Monkees picture sleeves from the release
of "Teardrop City" onwards (the only other Australian release
prior to 1969 that has a similar number on the back of the sleeve is "D.W.
Washburn", and it is "X668") These numbers seem to refer
to the approximate release date of the record in question.
An
exception to this rule is "Teardrop City", which was released
in January 1969 but has the number "A569". All the other release
dates match the "A" numbers to within a month or so. Even
though the sleeves for both of these "Davy Jones" volumes share
the same number as "Good Clean Fun", which was released in September
1969 and also has the number "A1069", the alphabetical sequence
of all of the matrix numbers of all of these late '60s Monkees 45s seem
to suggest that the release date of these two EPs would have to be in
either late 1969 or early 1970. |
